DNA Methylation in Context to Long Term Memory Formation

Andrea Foote

Learning and memory can almost be paired together when it comes to the brain. We need to learn or experience an event for it to become a memory. After we have perceived this information, it can either be lost or become a memory. The central nervous system has specific neural pathways that are followed for each individual memory. While memories are being formed replication of genes is occurring. This replication is thought to be what helps consolidation of the memory.
