Abstract

The Center for the Study of Sexual Selection in Fishes (CS³F) seeks to understand the behaviors of fish in relation to mating strategies. More specifically, the center has been studying guppies due to the obvious mating behaviors they display. Different factors such as fin size, color, shape, disease, and light can all affect the mating behaviors of guppies. With this information, we conducted an experiment in which we manipulated the appearance of disease by adding white dots to our model to represent ich. We hypothesized that a male guppy would prefer a true orange model with no ich compared to a neon orange model with ich. Add Results and Discussion.
