Abstract

In our experiment we studied how salinity affected on algae and how it affects growth rate. We questioned if salinity affected growth. We wanted to answer if this was affected by the environment. P. oklahomense is found in salty environment and we wanted to know if this decreased or increased growth. We did this by creating an experiment that tested the level of salinity. We tested with 2%, 4%,5%,6% salinity levels, we tested the cell density. After interpreting our data, we found that salinity lowers the cell density. This experiment will answer if salinity affects growth rate.
