This Is Our Future: The Effects of Light on Algae Producing Biofuels

Abstract

For this experiment we tested four different levels of light to see how they affected the growth of algae.  To test the levels of light on the growth of algae we constructed photobioreactor chambers. We ran two trials, each was a week long, and then measured the cell count of the algae that was grown. The results show the cell density of algae in various types of light. This information can be used to maximize algae production for biofuels.
