Abstract

Metabolic rates among organisms can vary based on the different environmental features it’s surrounded by. This study tested how a temperature change would affect the oxygen intake of a mouse in an enclosed environment. Oxygen intake rates directly correlate with the efficiency of metabolism so it was important to test how an influx or outflow of heat would affect this rate. This was done through a series of three trials with varying temperatures. The results were supportive of the original hypothesis.
