Abstract

Algae is important to aquatic life. It provides the basis for entire ecosystems. In our experiment we allowed samples of algae to grow under different lighting conditions. Over a course of time, we monitored four samples of water to see which lighting conditions cause more algae growth. We have noticed there to be more growth in the continuous lighting rather than the day and night cycle. The continuous light increased photosynthesis in the water which caused an increased growth of algae, which follows our hypothesis.
