Abstract

The general purpose of this experiment is to examine the relationship between a decrease in temperature and the metabolic rate of ectotherms, specifically cockroaches. Guiding our research, we questioned whether the overall amount of carbon dioxide gas released by the cockroaches as they respired would decrease as temperatures were lowered. By subjecting three cockroaches to three separate temperature trials, we were able to gather data relevant to our goal. “Insert brief overview of what happened here.” “Insert brief discussion of how it relates to other works here.”
