Abstract

This experiment was designed to identify how the resting metabolic rate changes in varying temperatures in the ectothermic Gromphadorhina Portentosa. Changes in surrounding oxygen levels in a respiration chamber were used to determine the resting metabolic rate at 30 degrees Celsius, 24 degrees Celsius, and 18 degrees Celsius. The results showed that a bell curve in which metabolic rate decreased at high and low temperatures and was constant at room temperature.
