“Let’s Get Out of Here! It’s Cold!” The Effects of Temperature On The Metabolic Rates of Cockroaches
Abstract
We wanted to test the effect of temperature on ectotherms, so we subjected three cockroaches to different temperatures to observe how their metabolic rates changed with the temperature differences. Our results did not support the hypothesis, and we observed that the opposite was true instead. We think this happened because the animals were moving around so much at the colder temperatures.
