Chlorophyll and Accessory Pigment Absorption of CO2 under Various Wavelengths of Light

Abstract


It is commonly accepted that plants grow differently under different wavelengths of light. This provokes our research question of why plants grow better under certain light conditions than others. This experiment was conducted to further support data that has been found in other labs. Having said that, our group tackled the question by monitoring CO2 consumption under green (control), red, blue and white light (experimental groups). Our results will show what wavelengths are most effective in conducting photosynthesis; this information can be generalized to most normal, photosynthetic plants.
