The Effects of Body Mass on Metabolism for Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches

Abstract

Metabolism is a complex process between and organism and its environment. To help better understand this process, we decided to study the relationship between a Madagascar hissing cockroach’s body mass and its metabolic rate. We did not find conclusive evidence to prove our hypothesis of an inverse relationship between the two. This means that there are confounding variables or errors in our experiment that would need to be examined and removed in future studies to help establish a clear correlation.
