Yeast Increases Oxygen Levels
Abstract
Yeast, a fungus, is a natural decomposer in the environment. Once yeast is present within water, it uptakes more oxygen in the water (Shuiwang 1, Newcomb 1). By using samples of Stillwater lake water with levels of nutrients ranging from high, medium, and low we tested whether or not yeast truly affected the levels of oxygen in the lake water samples by adding yeast to these samples.
