Abstract

We were intrigued on the relation between body mass and the output of carbon dioxide. We tested how different masses affect CO2 output between cockroaches, Gromphadorhina Portentosa, and crickets, Acheta Domestica. We found that the organism with a larger mass per gram produced less CO2 compared to the organism with a smaller mass per gram. Similar studies with other organisms have produced comparable results. This means the smaller the mass of the organism, the more CO2 is produced per gram of body mass.
