The Effect of Temperature on CO2 Output of Crickets

Abstract

We studied the effect of temperature on CO₂ output of Crickets. As temperature increases, the crickets will produce more CO₂ through respiration. To test our hypothesis, we placed the crickets in a respiration chamber in various temperatures and measured their CO₂ output. We discovered that a cricket’s thermoregulation process causes them to produce more CO₂ at higher temperatures and less CO₂ at lower temperatures.
