Abstract

The sexual and mate selection in guppies, Poecilia reticulata, are highly studied through numerous investigations to help scientist understand, “the ecological, evolutionary, physiological, and behavioral factors that shape the mating systems, strategies, and mate choices associated with fishes,” (French, 2017). We are interested in investigating the different sizes of female guppies and seeing if a larger depth female effects male mating behaviors. During the experiment, we used 3D printed female guppies, Poecilia reticulata, and the CS3F computer system to analyze and record the mating behaviors displayed in each trial. Our results show that the male Poecilia reticulata showed more mating behaviors towards Figure 1, female fish model 115014
