The Effect of Size on the Metabolic Rate of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches

Abstract


We hypothesized that madagascar hissing cockraoches with a higher mass in grams would have a higher metabolic rate.  Through several trials with threee different sized cockroaches, we came to discover that our hypothesis was falsified, and the smaller cockroaches appeared to have a higher metabolic rate than the larger cockroaches.
